Fixodent Lawsuit

If you use Fixodent and have experienced neurological problems, or been diagnosed with zinc poisoning, copper deficiency or neuropathy, you may be eligible to file a Fixodent lawsuit. The zinc in Fixodent can be toxic, and over time it can lead to disabling nerve damage.

We all need some zinc as part of a healthy diet. But too much can lead to copper deficiency, which over time causes nerve damage. Like most people, you have probably never heard of Fixodent zinc poisoning. That's because Proctor & Gamble for years did not warn that excess exposure to zinc in Fixodent could cause nerve damage or other health problems. Most Fixodent users weren't even aware that Fixodent contained zinc.

Because Proctor & Gamble failed to provide this vital information to its customers, it owes the victims of Fixodent zinc poisoning compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. We are filing Fixodent lawsuits right now to make sure Proctor & Gamble lives up to its responsibility.

If you or someone you love has used Fixodent, and suffered from unexplained neurological symptoms, please contact us right away. It is important that you file your Fixodent lawsuit as soon as possible.

Symptoms of Fixodent Zinc Poisoning

We expect that many people will file Fixodent lawsuits in the coming years. That's because most people - including doctors - are only now learning of the link between zinc  in Fixodent and serious nerve damage. The issue received widespread media attention in 2008, when the University of Texas published the results of a small study that found a definitive link between zinc containing denture creams and neuropathy.

The University of Texas study focused on four neuropathy patients - some of whom were confined to wheelchairs. All had elevated levels of zinc in their blood, as well as accompanying copper deficiency. The only other commonality between the patients was their long-term use of zinc containing denture creams. The researchers determined that the patients' use of these products was the most likely factor behind their illnesses.

Because the link between neurological disorders and Fixodent zinc poisoning is not always recognized, the disorder is often misdiagnosed. This is especially true when the symptoms occur in elderly people, as they are also typical of many other diseases associated with old age. They are also very similar to other neurological disorders, such as Multiple Sclerosis.

If you use Fixodent and suffer from any of these symptoms, you should request that your doctor conduct a blood test to determine if you have excess levels of zinc, or are suffering from a copper deficiency:

  • numbness or tingling in the feet legs, hands, and/or arms
  • a reduction in strength or ability to move legs or feet, or arms and hands
  • unexplained pain in the extremities
  • a tendency to stumble or fall down
  • instability and lack of balance
  • change or decrease in walking stride
  • abnormal blood pressure and heart rate
  • reduced ability to perspire
  • bowel and bladder dysfunction

When zinc poisoning is not recognized, it can lead to permanent disability. Some Fixodent users have become bedridden or reliant on wheelchairs. That's why it is important to recognize the symptoms of denture cream zinc poisoning if you use a product like Fixodent.
